New opportunities are opening up for Uzbek leather and footwear products in the Afghan market. Following negotiations between entrepreneurs of the two countries in Termez, export agreements and preliminary arrangements worth nearly USD 700,000 were reached.

The negotiations took place on September 15–17 as part of the “Uzbekistan–Afghanistan Light Industry Products” international exhibition at the “Termez International Trade Center” in the “Airitom Free Zone”. More than 10 local enterprises, including STEP BY STEP, RAVON TARAQQIYOT ORZUSI, UZSHOES, DENOV RAVNOQ KAMOLI and others, presented their products.

Meetings with Afghan buyers focused on supplies of footwear, leather goods and other leather products, as well as order volumes, product types and logistics. Direct business relations with new buyers were established for local manufacturers.

The focus is now on turning these agreements into actual exports. Companies continue negotiations with Afghan partners to finalize orders and conclude new contracts.

The three-day dialogue in Termez marked another practical step toward expanding the presence of Uzbek leather and footwear products in the neighboring market.
