The Uzcharmsanoat Association, in cooperation with Pakistan’s Asian Verification & Consulting (Pvt. Ltd), examined the production processes and compliance with environmental standards at several leather manufacturing enterprises in Uzbekistan. The main purpose of this visit was to prepare companies for international certification required for global market recognition, in particular, for the LWG (Leather Working Group) audit.

Based on the expert’s recommendations, the current status of the enterprises was assessed, and the stages and timelines for obtaining the certificate were determined. According to the plan, it will take 8–18 months of targeted work for local leather enterprises to be fully ready for the audit.

Bilateral agreements were signed between Asian Verification & Consulting and the companies “Top Quality Brand” LLC, “Peng Sheng Charm” LLC, “Nafis Charm” LLC, “Hamkor Nur Savdo” LLC, and “Premium Leather” LLC. Preparatory work to meet international audit requirements has already begun.

As of today, the production capacities and internal processes of “Top Quality Brand” and “Peng Sheng Charm” have been assessed as sufficient for the LWG audit. The final stages of preparation are currently underway.

The LWG certificate is a leading international standard in the leather industry, assessing environmental sustainability, efficient use of resources, and production quality. Companies holding this certificate are recognized not only as environmentally responsible manufacturers but also gain direct access to cooperation with the largest international buyers and brands.

According to experts, this process will strengthen the position of Uzbekistan’s leather industry in the international arena, expand export opportunities, and promote the country’s products as a “global eco-friendly brand.”
