Visit of Chinese Leather Industry Delegation to Andijan: A New Stage of Cooperation

Uzbekistan’s rapidly developing leather and footwear industry continues to attract growing attention from foreign investors. In particular, cooperation with China’s major leather and footwear companies has intensified, with their representatives making regular business visits to the country.

One of these visits took place in the Andijan region, where the Chinese delegation became acquainted with the operations of key manufacturing enterprises such as "KFK", "Ravon Taraqqiyot Orzusi", and the small industrial zone in Oltinkul.

The Chinese entrepreneurs explored not only the production processes, but also the product quality, raw material sources, logistics potential, and export capacity. Of particular interest was the ready-made infrastructure in the Oltinkul industrial zone — production facilities, energy supply, and workforce availability.

Notably, the meeting with the governor of the Andijan region was held not in a formal meeting room, but outdoors — in a more open and friendly atmosphere. This created a foundation for trust-based and productive dialogue.

During the discussions, Chinese companies expressed concrete plans to purchase finished leather products, establish new production capacities in Oltinkul, train local workers, and export Uzbek-made goods under their own Chinese brands. Some companies even mentioned their annual production capacity of 2 million pairs of shoes and showed interest in relocating part of this to Uzbekistan.

In conclusion, this visit was more than just an introduction — it marked a confident step toward the implementation of practical joint projects. The infrastructure readiness, open dialogue, and regional support in Andijan are paving the way for a new chapter in Uzbekistan–China cooperation in the leather industry.
